Goals

The purpose of the symposium is to "make an inventory" of the needs of the country (Burundi) and to identify contributing factors to economic and social progress at local  and national levels and to propose action plans that meet these needs.

 

Topic areas

Proposals should address one or more of the following points:

     

 Note: We invite and accept unifying speeches/content only

  • Education

  • Information and Communication Technology in Burundi Education

  • Burundi diaspora participation in peace building.

  • Topics related to political history, peace and stability in Burundi

  • Health and Nutrition in Burundi.

Format of Presentations and time

-Virtual individual paper sessions: 30 minutes & Ten (10) minutes for questions and answers.

-Virtual panel sessions (two to three presenters): 75 minutes & Thirty (30) minutes for questions and answers.

 

1. Submission Information guidelines:

Please submit:

1.1.The title of your presentation in French or in English

1.2.The topic area of your presentation (choose a topic area from the 
      list provided above).

1.3. Presenters:

   For each presenter please include the following:

   Full name

   Department/ Division/University/ Company/Organization

   Email address

2. Email the title of your presentation
       Email the title of your presentation along with the above described submission  information to:

Confirmation of submission will be sent between fourteen (14) to twenty- one (21) days.

Virtual Symposium Presentation Fee: Donations

Participants and donors: Any dollar amount would be appreciated. Place of donation in Burundi (TBD)

Symposium Proceedings /Publication

Deadline for proceedings submissions is  June 1, 2023.

Registered participants/presenters who wish to be published in the symposium proceedings must resubmit their paper and/or abstract by the above date. Please send your submissions via e-mail attachment to:

Title of the submission,

Name(s) of the author(s),

Affiliation(s) of the author(s).

We invite and accept unifying speeches/content only.

 

All funds raised through this virtual symposium will be used to buy computers and electronic equipment to support teaching and learning in secondary schools located in  Kamenge (Bujumbura Mairie, Burundi).
